Questionnaires in action

Hari ni dikira hari rasmi aku distribute questionnaires through hand deliver method. Sejak tengah hari pusing-pusing Pasir Gudang dan some areas in Johor Bahru untuk dapatkan respondents.

Seronoknya dapat buat aktiviti menarik ni. Mula-mula rasa amat cuak nak minta orang yang tak dikenali untuk jawab questionnaires. Sampai ambik masa nak dapatkan first respondents. Dalam hati cakap, "nak bagi ke tak, nanti kene marah macam mane?" =p

Tapi kuatkan gak semangat dan dapat public respondent pertama di Pusat Bandar Pasir Gudang. Mudah je sebenarnya bila respondents beri kerjasama. Yang penting aku kena betul-betul introduce myself correctly. Bila orang dah percaya, so dengan tanpa banyak soal mereka akan tolong jawab questionnaires tu.

Ada juga yang reject nak jawab. Kat kedai alat tulis. Seorang mak cik ni cakap "saye rasa awak dah salah orang lah, saya bukan doktor atau pharmacist, saya retailer". Pastu belah macam tu je tak nak jawab. Wah sombongnye. Aku bukan nak cari doktor atau pharmacist. Just nak cari orang biasa, orang awam untuk tanya pendapat berkaitan doktor, ahli farmasi, klinik dan kedai farmasi.

Itulah nasib researchers untuk social based study macam ni. Cabaran berdepan dengan rejection. Tapi aku ok je, sebab dah biasa berdepan dengan rejection dalam business, =D So no hal lah.

Then pergi solat kat surau. Dapatlah 2 orang lagi untuk jawab questionnaires. Kalau dapat lagi ramai lagi bagus kan, hmm. Selain itu, aku pun dapat respondent kat tempat main bowling dan kedai farmasi. Macam-macam tempat aku pergi untuk biasakan diri untuk dapatkan respondents. Banyak juga lah yang aku belajar hari ini secara tak langsung.

Ohya, satu yang aku observe hari ni ialah, lebih ramai orang prefer jawab questionnaires dalam bahasa melayu. Tapi aku prepare 40 sets untuk english version dan cuma 30 sets untuk malay version. Maksudnya kena fotostat lebih banyak malay version esok. I need at least 50 respondents tomorrow.

Selain hand deliver method, aku juga guna internet untuk distribute questionnaires ni. Aku rasa guna internet lebih mudah dan pantas.

Menjawab questionnaires sebenarnya amat mudah. Anda tidak perlu memberikan pendapat secara bertulis, tapi sekadar tandakan pada pernyataan yang anda rasa betul bagi anda. Sama ada amat setuju, setuju, neutral, tidak setuju atau amat tidak setuju. Tiada jawapan yang betul mahupun salah. Ia sekadar pendapat anda.

Aku beli Blackberry Bold 9000 At&T demo set Made in Hungary.

Demo set ni BB yang jadi display item kat kedai. Tak pernah pakai. Xde scratch langsung.

Harge RM1300.

Dan aku nekad untuk trade in Sony Ericsson K770i yang telah banyak berjasa itu. Memang puas lah pakai, thanks.

So dapatlah BB tu pada harge RM1100 saja. Kira amat murah sebab BB Bold 9000 baru harge nya dalam RM2k. Dapat save RM900 di situ.

Ape yang menarik, dapat full and complete set. Dari kotak, sampai ke CD driver. Semua lengkap.

Cuma yang kurang skit, warranty kedai cuma 1 bulan. So mulalah berdoa moga BB ni tak banyak masalah. =)

Yup, tidak dinafikan, I used to dislike BB. Because i thought ipod touch from Apple is better and enough.

Tapi kini tanggapan dah berubah. =I

Sebab utama ialah because I love online so much dan nak online 24 hours. Tambahan lagi online business semakin baik.

Jadi komunikasi dengan customers/clients perlu lah sentiasa pantas dan mudah. Harap2nya BB will help to expand my online business, to provide better customer service which is my main attention and concern.

Ipod Touch? Erm, masih ada. Mungkin juga nak letgo. Tapi amat sayang. Sebab baru je beli 6 bulan. Masih ade 6 bulan original warranty from Apple. Tengok lah kalau dapat harga ok, dan pembeli yang boleh jage ipod touch tu baik-baik, mgkn i will consider to seriously let it go. =I

Alhamdulillah, akhirnya selesai juga presentation research proposal tengah hari tadi. I was put in the 2nd group which mainly for clinical research project and I was the 11th presenter.

It was terrifying+tiring for waiting until my time to present. Watching other colleagues presenting below 7 minutes just make me feel uncomfortable because my slides were quite full with words.

Luckily I found a time during the break period to cut off some of my slides from 19 to basically 16. I deleted some slides from the introduction, literature review and limitations. Nobody knows either! =p

For my presentation, I have prepared the sets of questionnaires to allow better understanding from the examiners, and Alhamdulillah it works. The examiners can directly point out any mistakes from my previous work in order to come out with better ideas and suggestions.

I tried to be more calm at the beginning of my presentation, however, my lips keep berbuih-buih and cause me tersasul-sasul menyebut "Assalamualaikum warahmatullah and a very good afternoon to Prof Ros, other examiners, and fellow colleagues". The audiences started laughing. =(

But it's ok, I come back with stronger voice and more serious intonation to grab back the attention from the audience. I managed to explain my slides accordingly and inform the important points that were not in the slides. I dont want to be judged as reading the slides. No no. =D

(The Gantt Chart)

I tried to say it seriously at the last part of the presentation, but it turned something funny there. At the slides of my Gantt chart, I tried to explain that I need to cover until data analysis at least before May because "my supervisor is going to leave me in June 2010". I found that the audience laughed to the ears. HaHaHa.. But my intention is to say that, Im going to take the challenge to carry out my research project faster with good quality. =)

Actually, the presentation is a medium to evaluate whether the students understand or not about their topics and to suggest better methodology so that our research project can reach the expected standard for degree level.

Thanks to Prof Ros, Mr Atheer, Ms Syarizah, Ms Semira, Prof Alini, Pn linda and Mdm Umi for your suggestions and ideas. I will discuss back with my supervisors to enhance the quality of my research project.

Lastly, Prof Ros has stated that she was satisfied with our presentation and level of confidence. This will be our strength to do better in this research project. Congratulations to all my colleagues, we have done a good job today. =D
